75 Romanian entries at Cannes Lions

The Cannes Lions Bureau in Romania talks about 75 Romanian entries for this year at the prestigious advertising festival, 2 days before the deadline.
Well, this is great news. The number is quite big and hopefully the awards will follow.

For the 2010 edition of Cannes Lions, McCann Erickson and Saatchi&Saatchi lead the entries number, each one with 15 entries, in different categories.
Graffitti BBDO and Ogilvy have 4 each, whereas Publicis and Tempo have entered 5 each.
Another 2 local, full-service agencies, have an interesting number of entries: Propaganda with 6 and Mercury360 with 4.
With only one entry, we have GMP, Infinit Solutions and Pixel Arts Magazine.

On the PR side, we have 2 agencies to be proud of: Rogalski-Grigoriu with 5 entries and The Practice with 3. Both agencies boost in creativity and efficiency and they have great performances and awards to demonstrate. Maybe, in this context, the most important achievements are the quality of each agency having a juror in the PR Category at Cannes Lions.
Eliza Rogalski (from Rogalski-Grigoriu) was juror last year at PR Lions, the first time Romania had actually had a juror delegate at the festival. What a great year for Romania! In 2010, Gabriela Lungu, from the Practice, is another juror at PR Lions. This is really something to make a fuss about. When you havae the patience and the solid professional background, good things do happen.

The Media Lions category has one participant from Romania this year. The brave 4 entries come from Starcom MediaVest.

As for the Cyber category, Romania is represented in 2010 by only one agency, that is Senior Interactive.

75 entries is less than 96 in 2008 and quite similar to 74 entries in 2009. But with the economic environment we are dealing with, I would say the number is promising.
